Example of target for the promotion of external sustainability initiatives

By 2030, we will donate 1% of our annual turnover to organisations that promote social, ecological and economic sustainability.

  • Measure 1Define impact targets

Think carefully about which sustainability and impact goals you want to achieve with your commitment. Define ambitious, measurable and time-bound goals to guide you in selecting projects you want to support. Depending on the extent of your support, it may be worth setting up a foundation, or you can join the existing '1% for the Planet' foundation.

  • Measure 2Build partnerships

Build a network to learn about suitable sustainability initiatives and support projects that suit you and your impact goals. It can be worthwhile to seek expert advice here.

  • Measure 3Evaluate project success.

Ask your project partners to show you in detail what impact your commitment has had. Evaluate whether you achieved your impact goals and incorporate the results into decisions about further support.

  • Measure 4Report and implement improvements

Make your results transparent in a report and use the experience to implement improvements.

Relevance & added value

Partnerships play a crucial role in realising the Sustainable Development Goals, as the challenges facing the world are too complex to be tackled by individual actors alone. By working together, resources can be pooled, expertise shared and synergies created in order to develop effective solutions. These partnerships enable governments, businesses, NGOs and civil society to harness their respective strengths to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals more quickly and efficiently, ultimately leading to a more sustainable and equitable world.
