The Advisory Centre for Occupational Safety (BfA) operates as the specialist organisation of the Federal Coordination Commission for Occupational Safety (FCOS) for the construction industry and is managed by the Swiss Federation of Master Builders. The BfA advises construction companies on implementing occupational health and safety measures and offers various related services.
The BfA supplies a wide range of information sheets, checklists, forms and other specialist materials. It also runs its own information and prevention campaigns and provides awareness-raising resources for companies on various key occupational health and safety topics. The BfA participates in Suva's safety programmes and conducts joint campaigns with Suva focusing on occupational safety and health protection on construction sites. It is also involved in developing and providing essential resources for preventing workplace accidents and illnesses.
