Example of target for wellbeing in the workplace

By 2030, all our employees will have an ergonomic workplace to improve their wellbeing and health at work, and we will receive the Friendly Work Space certification.

  • Measure 1Conduct a site assessment

Preparation: Familiarise yourself with the Friendly Work Space Self-Assessment Tool and its criteria and assessment categories.

Conducting the self-assessment: Carry out the Friendly Work Space Self-Assessment according to the instructions. Work systematically through the various categories and evaluate your site using the provided criteria. Document your assessments and identify areas for improvement.

Analysis of the results and action plan: After completing the self-assessment, analyse the results. Identify strengths and weaknesses as well as priority areas for action.

  • Measure 2Implement improvements in workplace friendliness.

Develop an action plan based on the findings of the Friendly Work Space Self-Assessment Tool, including concrete measures to improve workplace friendliness. Assign responsibilities and set a realistic timeframe for implementing the measures.

  • Measure 3Have working conditions certified by an external expert

Two external assessors visit your organisation and verify on behalf of Friendly Work Space whether the label requirements are met.

  • Measure 4 Extend measures throughout the value chain

You will achieve the greatest impact by extending your workplace wellbeing measures to your value chain – both in relation to the supply chain and the health effects of products and services. Engage in dialogue with your most important suppliers, product developers and customers. Define binding sustainability criteria in your contracts and product requirements. Set a clear timeframe for implementing the necessary measures.

Relevance & added value

Every year, 2,400 cases of occupational illnesses and over 280,000 occupational accidents are registered in Switzerland. Enhanced safety and better access to employee health and wellbeing increase a company's productivity, appeal and competitiveness. After all, healthy employees are a crucial factor in a company's success.
