This Swiss logistics company has already successfully implemented extensive innovations and digitalisation in its services. It focuses on integrating environmentally friendly delivery methods and digital platforms. The corporate strategy sets clear goals for greater sustainability, particularly by promoting environmentally conscious logistics solutions and continuously improving operational processes. The corporate culture places great importance on social responsibility and customer focus and also involves suppliers in these sustainability goals to ensure a comprehensive and future-proof logistics solution.

Goal 1

Measures

  • Convert the entire vehicle fleet to electric drives in urban areas to eliminate direct tCO2eq emissions in the shipping process.
  • Invest in additional international climate protection projects for complete tCO2eq compensation of the entire logistics chain, including transport by partner companies.
  • Install solar and wind power systems on suitable company buildings to maximise energy consumption from renewable sources.
  • Launch a national campaign to raise awareness of climate-friendly shipping and promote its use.

Goal 2

By 2026, we will increase the efficiency of waste management by 10% by using used batteries as electricity storage and reducing empty runs through local partnerships.

Measures

  • Run a pilot project using decommissioned electric scooter batteries as electricity storage in buildings with solar systems to improve energy efficiency and integration of renewable energy. Set up a structured internal return and processing system for batteries to ensure efficient collection, sorting and processing of batteries for reuse and recycling.
  • Run educational campaigns to promote waste reduction and recycling, including staff training and information materials for customers to raise awareness of the circular economy's importance.
  • Cut empty runs by working with local bakeries and farmers to deliver regional products, reducing the need for additional transport while supporting regional economic cycles.

Goal 3

By 2027, we will boost economic productivity by 15% through digitalisation and improve working conditions to increase staff satisfaction.

Measures

  • Invest in digital and technical innovations to increase productivity and introduce new technologies, particularly in peripheral regions, to create and secure at least three new jobs per year.
  • Review and adjust remuneration policy yearly to ensure equal pay for work of equal value and work closely with social partnerships to continuously improve working conditions in line with collective labour agreements. Check results through annual staff satisfaction surveys.
  • Expand inclusion measures to specifically support young people and people with special needs, including targeted programmes for these groups.
  • Put in place ongoing training programmes to foster professional development and increase productivity, particularly in peripheral regions.

Goal 4

By 2026, we will cut energy used for returns by 20% and packaging materials by 30% by making returns and recycling more efficient through reusable containers and recycling solutions and improving logistics processes for returns and collections.

Measures

  • Launch a pick-up & drop-off service for end consumers with a mobile app to make shipping and returns more efficient using parcel stations at partner locations and reduce environmental impact.
  • Increase the stock of reusable boxes in six different sizes and put in place a system for regular box checks and cleaning to minimise disposable cardboard packaging.
  • Work with specialist waste disposal companies to ensure professional and ecological processing of returned goods and packaging materials, including recyclable waste products.
  • Set up a reporting system for detailed evaluation of returns, including monitoring return and recycling processes, to maintain oversight and enable continuous improvements.
