Example of a medium-sized industrial company from Eastern Switzerland

Publikationsdatum: 13. March 2025

This eastern Swiss industrial company with around 200 employees had already successfully implemented various measures in energy efficiency and the switch to renewable energy. Due to pressure from a major customer, the company decided to systematise its sustainability commitment and set measurable targets. The subsequent analysis revealed the greatest potential in recyclable products, equal opportunities and the supply chain.

Why is the example anonymous?

Goal 1

By 2030, we will generate at least 20% of our turnover with recyclable products.

Measures

  • Define the measuring system for recyclability and analyse and classify products according to recyclability.
  • Design and develop improved products.
  • Build partnerships in the circular economy.

Goal 2

By 2025, we will ensure that our entire organisation is certified for family and gender balance.

Measures

  • Evaluate partners and certificates.
  • Analyse differences, close gaps and implement measures.
  • Certify and continuously improve.

Goal 3

By 2028, we will ensure that 100% of our suppliers from high-risk countries comply with ILO core labour standards.

Measures

  • Define a meaningful standard (e.g. BSCI, Sedex) and Supplier Code of Conduct.
  • Define risk countries and identify affected suppliers.
  • Work with suppliers to implement a defined standard.
